JJ was well known and liked both in Waltham Abbey where he lived for a few years and also in his home town of Islington. JJ’s funeral was held on the 31st of March and the large turnout was testimony to how popular he was.

Shane set up a go fund me page shortly after the news and also started organising the fundraising event.

The nights entertainment included singers Luciee Closier, Andy T Taylor, Freddi Jackson, Fire Breather Paige Cowell, DJ Krazy G and a talk from Anti Knife UK campaigner Danny O’Brien BCA. There was also a raffle with prizes generously donated by local businesses.

What a great night! As ever, all the performers were superb, from the singers to the fire breather display and the Anti-Knife speech. The DJ did a great job of keeping everyone on the dance floor and money was given generously for ticket and raffle sales.

£1,100 pounds was raised at the event and an incredible £3,523.64 through the go fund me page totalling £4623.64. The money will be paid into two accounts, one for each of JJ’s daughter’s to help with their futures.

We’d like to thank everyone who made the effort to come along and gave so generously. The evening really was fantastic and we found ourselves surrounded by brilliant people. Thanks also to Elle and her staff at the Queens Head pub, a great venue with welcoming hospitality. A big thank you to all the performers, without you guys these events wouldn’t be as successful as they are.

Thank you to all the businesses that donated the raffle prices. Sun Street Opticians, Gate House Café, Kookochoo, Nail Care, Chilli Pickle, Russian Dolls, Vintage Ways and Lou Lou’s Interiors.

Finally, thank you to JJ’s Mum Michelle and JJ’s partner Kennedy. Your attitude and integrity was inspirational at what must be such a very difficult time.
